Hi, I'm fairly new to here and I've noticed that there's some questions on the Xbox Live banning scene. It appears that noone knows exactly what it is that gets them banned, the firmware, playing backed up games offline while on live, or playing backed up games online. I bought all of the stuff that i need and i will be flashing my 360 Samsung ms28 with IXtreme 1.2 revC by tuesday.

First I will play a backed up game with ethernet cable disconnected.

Then I will play an original with the cable connected and I logged in.

Then I will play a backed up game with the cable connected and I logged in.

Then i will play an original online.

And finally a backed up game online.

This is meant to see if i will get banned and at what step, maybe it will help some people figure out how to better protect us, or if you should play backed up games online. Wish me luck.

I think the attempt is honourable but..... Q's

1. What if you get banned on the first test but it takes M$ several days to get round to banning you? You still won't know what caused you to get banned.
2. What if you don't get banned, especially using iXtreme 1.2C?

Have a look around the forums. There are some great technical posts about how the banning seems to work. Don't take all of the info as gospel, because like you said, we're not sure exactly how the bans work.

Well, i'm gonna flash my box, regardless, Live isn't extremely important to me, but if i don't get banned while using iXtreme, then, Awesome!

But if i do get banned i would like to know what exactly they caught me doing. And if so it might help someone make a decision about flashing their box or not.

getting banned takes time. THey collect data and ban you after they have enough data collected. My friend plays games on live(original) with flashed firmware, the old xtreme 1.6 and hasnt gotten banned. He played a burned copy of gears of war once, then after he did that the next day the did the banning (5/17/07) so he stopped playing burned games on live and he is still playing fine

OK I'm back, flashed the Xbox, no problem, can play any stealthed games on live, i'm really satisfied with the results, and since iXtreme 1.2 doesn't let you play unstealthed games it's pretty safe. Good Modding people!

You know xbins is logging microsofts attempts to ban us with there Xbox Live logs, there just running 360's with a debug firmware. Well they post these logs publicly on the link below.
