Hey

i just ordered an xkey so i can play my games from a hard drive. my console has never been hacked before.. what i want to know is, do i have to buy something to read the and dump the dvd drive firmware? or is it as simple as taking out the drive and plugging it into the sata port of my pc? and using something there?

after i order the x360key i realised that it said "x360key is not able to read dvd drive firmware therefore you will have to purchase.."

all i saw was the big "COMPATIBLE WITH ALL XBOX 360 CONSOLES SLIM AND FAT"

i know i should have read the listing properly.

please tell me i dont have to spend more money just to dump some firmware from my drive?
do i NEEED the x360usbpro to get this to work?

All you can do is see if the onboard SATA chipset is compatible. If the Xbox DVD drive is 16D5S or Hitachi, yes you'll have to buy other tools to RGH the motherboard or pay someone to do it to retrieve the necessary files.

I did a DG-16D2S. I used a ck3 probe and a ck3 mini. Maybe this would work the same. I watched some YouTube tutorials to get through it

The Xkey Gecko or X360USB Pro can be used to dump the dummy.bin. you will not need the sputnik probe.
