Hello,
I am new here and I don't know much about modding. I recently won a xbox 360 slim 4gb.

Model:1439
MFR Date: 2011-10-27

I there anything new about this model? I mean. Can I get it to play backups (from hdd too) or rgh it?:)
And if so, will I be able to do this without burning any dvds. And will I have access to live with backups (from hdd too) to play online?

Yes you can play backups of your games, and yes you can RGH it. There are many threads on this in the main area.

For playing burned games there are two ways of doing it. The first is by burning backup disks and then flashing your DVD drive to read them. The second is using non team-xecuter products to run a DVD emulator on your xbox. The second was the only way to play strictly from the HDD until Team-Xecuter released fusion. Thats another option but alot more complicated, unless you plan on RGH anyway.

If all your going to do is play game I suggest the first for now, but it does mean you'll have to do some kind of complex phsyical mods to your xbox. But their are some great tutorials in this forum to help.

As for RGH you'll have to get a coolrunner and install it. Look at the main forum for tutorials and explanations on all the types, or post a reply. And if you RGH you can instal fusion!! :)

@ HelplessAmoeba - don't mislead people if you don't know what you're talking about, do some more reading on the forum topics.

MFD shows that the console is a CORONA ! 4Gb units cannot be RGH-ed yet and, the DVD must be a liteon 16D5S or a Hitachi 500/502, both of them unflashable yet.
Playing online with an RGH'ed console is not possible anymore, the only option here is Xlink Kai network(google it)

For your first post, that is a terrible response.

Can i suggest you actually learn something before giving advice. They could well have gone out and purchased an item that would not work on your say so.

Yes, it likely has a Corona board (not currently RGH'able) and a drive that is not currently flashable to enable playing backups from disc.

Can I get it to play backups (from hdd too) or rgh it?
At the moment, no.

And will I have access to live with backups (from hdd too) to play online?
You cannot play on XBL with RGH or flashed drive. You will be banned. If you're eventually able to RGH, then you might take a look at Demon, but you still can't play backups online.

Some additional info:
You might want to refer here to help identify what board and drive you have. Chances are, you have a Corona board for sure. You can also refer to this, it proved to be accurate in my case.

I also have a 360s 4GB. Luckily I got the trinity board and Liteon 16D4S drive, but it was mfg date 8/2/2011.

If you're wanting to play backups from HDD with no disc required in the drive, then your drive model is irrelevant, and you must RGH your xbox (if/when that's possible).

However, if you do want to burn/play disc backups of your legally owned games, then check here for the status on drive firmware.

If you eventually are able to RGH, keep in mind you'll also need some hard drive space for those backups. I put one of these in my xbox. Of course, you could also go the external USB HDD enclosure route.

Cheers!
