xbox 360 slim dvd drive issues

Hi,
I have been running into this sucky issue. When in the middle of a game it will randomly go back to the home screen. Where the tile is that should show the game just says opening. It doesn't make any sounds or beeps. It just quits the game, says opening and then you have to restart the console. and of course it is out of warranty.
I have cleaned the capacitive touch button.

I am wondering if maybe the laser is dirty or gone bad?

what do you guys think?

Is the console glitched?
dvd drive flashed?
is it original discs or backup copys?

Console is completely original. Never been opened. Original discs. Discs are spotless. Only does this in games though never movies.

From what you said seems the eject buton is faulty, you could try changing that cable?

Could try running a game without the faceplate on the console see of that makes any difference if it doesn't then I'm still going to say new drive

I will give this a shot and report back. But I don't think that's the issue cause it doesn't make a beep when it happens. And if this was the case wouldn't it do it randomly while it's off?
