Okay so i have an xbox 360 trinity the power supply stays orange when plugged into the console, When i hit power/eject/Remote power the power supply clicks and turns off then back on, Would it be a short in my system or faulty power supply? I do not know anyone near me with a slim to test power supply.

are u getting a beep noise when u press button/ I would try a different powerbrick to see if not sounds like xgpu issue/ is this modded or retail system

Check the power cords to ensure they're not damaged and inserted properly. Use a multimeter to verify the proper voltage is being put out from the brick. That will answer your question.
retail not modded, and will see about getting a new power supply to test. on power and eject i get beeps. everytime it beeps the light on the power supply goes out then goes back on. everytime it does this it acts as a loss of power. I had a usb remote plugged in to see if it was loosing power and it beeps and resets the power supply because the green light on the usb remote will blink like when u first plug it in with system in standby mode.

does the power supply once xbox is turned on go from orange to red for a brief split sec then back to orange? or just orange?if you see red a sec,i have 2 things you might need to replace on the board.cant member the number for location right off,but ill grab a dead board tomorrow and get the item locations for ya if the power supply is acting like i mentioned.

might still be worth a shot to replace them 2 components if your up to it and have spare boards to rob em from.ill get the locations tomorrow for ya.
The light on the PSU should not go off at all until it has been unplugged for a bit. I've only ever seen orange-stby. Green-on. Red-problem. If the light is going off at some point it sounds like it losing power on the 120v end.
