Xbox 360 slim weird issue

I have a xbox 360 slim 4gb Trinity that initially has no power, only beeps when you press the power button. Eject button does nothing because the drive is removed at the moment. I am thinking it is a short in the RF circuit somewhere. I unplug the RF module and connect the PSU. It beeps, I guess to say it made a connection. It does not beep with the RF module connected. With the PSU being plugged in and on standby, it is orange. Now if I plug in the RF module in this state, the PSU goes full green and the fan spins as it would with a 12V fan mod, but nothing happens on the RF module. No lights, nothing. Nothing on the TV either. I unplug the RF module, it goes back to standby. This is a new PSU that I just ordered. I have tested both the U5A1 and U5B1 transistors, along with the 33ohm resistor beside of the Hana chip. All tested good. I have applied pressure to the Southbridge while trying to turn it on via the power button. Nothing. Any help would be much appreciated.

I forgot to mention that I have swapped out the RF module with a known working one. It does the exact same thing.

Hate to say it. But without a TX product, You won't get much help on this. Also your not giving much info. Was console working before? someone spill or did a cat piss on it? You check usb plugs to see if anything is shorting out? could be anything.

I was planning on RGH'ing with the coolrunners I have coming, but could not for the life of me figure this one out. I understand that too. I bought used off of ebay. Not working since I had it. Never been opened and the board is pretty clean. No spills that I can tell. Still had original thermal compound on it also. I did check all USB ports as well. I have RGH'ed 6 systems without a hitch, but this one has me stumped. Serves me right for trying to fix a slim. haha. I will try to figure it out. Thanks for the help man. Much appreciated.

I have a few with same issue.. I've been working on them on and off for awhile. I would start by checking the standby voltages and see what part of the board is not getting anything. Been told its a few transistors that need to be replaced. I don't have an easy way to remove them so never tried that.

here is a thread about it.

here is standby voltages.

From what i remember reading.. these are the culprits you want to check. but only way to check them is to remove them.

If you figure it out.. let me know.

Thanks

SlothGSR, Thank you for this info. Will be testing this out tonight and see what I come up with. If I end up with different values and end up fixing it, you will be the first to know.

gazcoigne, I am trying to avoid that, but know there might be no other choice. I have contacted WNYConsoles to see about getting this one and another one reballed.

Nowhere
if there is a problem that requires reworking with these "dingers" as i call them,it wouldnt be the xcgpu most likley, but rather southbridge.also a few voltage regulators u should test as well as mosfets.mosfets are hard to pull off the board, but cannot be tested while installed.

UPDATE - I have located several standby spots that are off and fluctuate on the 3.3V rail. It starts at 0V and increases to 4V, then repeats. The 12V and 5V rails are testing good. I have tested the new PSU on another working unit and it performs fine. I have also replaced the U5B1 regulator and it is the same result. The U5A1 regulator test fine on all pins. Gonna do a little more testing this weekend. Any ideas on where to start? Already spent about 5 hours on this thing and have about 10 more systems to mod, so any shortcuts would be greatly appreciated.
