Xbox 360 Trinity R3B15 (STBY_CLK) Issues

I seemed to have damaged the R3B15 quite severely. I attempted to start the console but literally nothing would happen when I touched the power button. The power supply bar remained orange as well. Do you figure this is from the R3B15 point or perhaps have I damaged another point on the board? I seen there was a tutorial for an alternate STBY_CLK install & STBY_CLK fix but I want to make sure this is what is causing my no power symptom before I go about proceeding to do this alternative point.

Just repair it and test.

scrape the trace to bare copper & solder a wire from the trace to the resistor..

Would I lose the ability to use the alternative points if I scrape the trace? If not then I will definitely have to give that a go!

I think it has to be repaired before the console will work, but wait for someone else to confirm that.

Repairing the orig point will have no effect on using a alt point..

Awesome! I gave it a try by scraping and soldering a wire to the board, then the transistor and it appears to be working!

The only issue I seemed to face is that it overheats in about 5 seconds of launch, which I am assuming is due to the fact there is no heat-sink on the unit. If I could get confirmation this is normal that would be awesome.

I seem to have some pretty horrible luck. I accidentally bumped off the resistor on R3B15 so I went to use the alternative point and I lifted the pad... What now?

I suggest you stop working on xbox's if your constantly pulling up pads.. Get a lower wattage iron and a fine tip. Use flux. Post some new pics

It probably is your issue. What you need to do is bridge R3B15 to the resister next to it. I made the same mistake when i was a nube, that fixed it for me. Then solder to the alternate point

O yeah, didnt read ur last post. Ignore the last guy, just completely stop. You need to junk that xbox and get a new one. U can get them for about $50 console only on ebay but if u want a trinity u need to type xbox 360 model 1439. Dont try to rgh it untill you get some practice soldering. I would suggest practicing on your junk board. You can sell thsk drive and fan for a little bit of $.
