You can use the alternate point beneath the board but I second rocket8080 in his recommendation for using the alternate jtag points. It's not like you have to change much of what you already done. Instead of using the DB1F1 point you connect/solder the end of the diode to the DVD open_tray signal wire and the other connection which connects to the ROL instead goes to the audio_clamp which is at the bottom of the board. You will end up with a more stable JTAG rather than those random E79's/ROL acting funny or controllers failing to sync up.

In addition you don't have go through that process of installing XBR and then converting to freeboot. There is a mini guide within the tutorial that shows how to compile and install freeboot directly.

Simply do the following:

1. Solder/connect to the alternate jtag points mentioned in the tutorial

2. download the files in my signature and flash xell (zephyr.bin) 16mb file to obtain your CPU key. ** (make sure jtag tool isn't running when you are copying/deleting files).

3. Assuming you are using jtag tools, place (zephyr.bin) 12kb file in the SMC folder of Jtag tool directory. ** (make sure jtag tool isn't running when you are copying/deleting files).

4. Once you obtained your CPU key, enter that into JTAG tool and compile a freeboot image before you write that to the NAND.

The above is based on the assumption that your original dump doesn't have any bad blocks. You also might want to verify your CPU key and see if it decrypts your key vault within your original NAND before trying to compile freeboot. To do this you need to use 360 flash tool.

Try pressing the reset button on the NAND-X as well as disconnecting the USB cable from the computer and reconnecting it again before writing freeboot.
