Alright so heres the deal I have a xbox 1.6, possibly now with a 1.7 mobo.Anyways its got a WD 160gb(unlocked) with a X3 and the problem is I was changing the eeprom on his xbox through x3 with a older xbox version(it was a 1.3 I believe) anyways it totally fragged the board and I had to get a new one(the one that i think is a 1.7). I reinstalled the chip on the new board and checked the connections twice now and everything looks ok, but when i boot up i get error 16.The external switches leds aren't working which makes me think that the chips fried,but im not exactly sure what to do. please help or suggest I try something cause im all out of ideas...

the error 16 is the clock is not set...you need the original m$ dashboard to set the clock.leave that for a moment though

second problem to solve though is getting the chip to come on enabled.
What lights can u see on the x3 chip ,should be 2 x blue and one red or green

and the chip lights???
Did you do the LPC rebuild
Did you remove pin 6 from the pin header and use the red alt 5V wire

the chips lights are on.
the lpc rebuild looks good i tugged on the wires and there secure, no broken connections
i did remove pin6 from the pinheader i pretty much followed the tutorial on this site and made sure i didnt miss anything

i'll be adding pics later on tonight once i get a cam, can anyone give me a general idea what it might be?
You need to test voltages on your pins and test continuity on your rebuild. Grab a multimeter and let us know what you find.
bump and when i said the chip lights are on, i meant one of leds was glowing on the chip but not on the external switch

Yeesh, man. We can't help you if you aren't more precise. It's hard to diagnose stuff without seeing it, so you need to be very careful to say what you mean.ionz said:
If you only have one LED glowing on the chip, you have a bad install. You should have two: 3.3V and 5V. Which one is missing?
