Flashbios doesn't always work well with other video cables. Give your stock cable a shot and see if that helps. Once you flash a new bios (X2 5035) you can go back to your SCART cables.

Orange usually means an A/V problem or wrong cables. Look for solder splashes around the video encoder.

Yeah I have checked, there are no solder splashes. Is this chip fryed, surely it should not be causing all this with the chip disabled?

Since you have the problem with the chip disbaled there is something wrong with the Xbox. Try completely removing everything including the pinheader/wires. Your goal will be to get the Xbox working again without anything related to the modchip in there.

No mate the xbox is fine, like I said this is a new xbox I'm now using. It only doesnt boot when the mod chip is placed on the pin head adapter, if I take it off with the pin head still installed then it boots as normal.

Its only when the modchip is placed on it in either on or off mode I get the green and then orange flashing errors!

K, I now have a new chip! And guess what turns out I did not need it, because after all that I had been installing the chip the wrong way round. Dont ask me how and why, I'm just stupid and waisted more money.

But now when I put either of the chips in the xbox goes through this code.

1) Boots up, flashes green, turns off (no video)
2) Boots up, flashes green, turns off (no video)
3) Boots up, keeps flashing red (no video)

This all happens after just pressing the on button once, also it starts up normally with the mod chip disabled! What could all of this mean, I looked at all error codes and it say something about a bad epprom. But with two mod chips?
But I have checked my soldering and it all looks pretty tight!

Thanks!

Errr... As far as I know there are only 4 switches on the modchip, one for the two banks, one for the flash protection, one for chip on and off and one small wight switch at the back for the lights.

In any case, the bank is set to 1 but I have also tryed 2, the chip is on, flash protection is on and so are the lights. So with either of the flash banks on it wont load and I get exactly the same error messages!

Ok ok... So I missed a point on the pcb rebuild! I tryed it again, got three lights come up on the mod chip but no video, after a while the green light turned orange. I tryed it with the second bank and I got video, it had something about xecuter and then said there was a video encoder problem. Then it gives all these details about the hardrive and so on!

Whats going on, what does this all mean... Thanks I would really like to get this working as soon as possible, got some files I need on the old hard drive :(

Sorry PM'd u....

Anyway, nevermind the video thing cos the menu then goes back to normal. But I really want to flash this thing tonight, but all the guides are confusing me cos they all seem to be for x3 and not for x2.6.
I have a 1.6-1.6b xbox, so I downloaded the M8 + 1.6 bios. But the guides say to change it from being 256 to 1 meg and flash it to all 4 banks, what is the point of this. On the 2.6 modchip there are only 2 selectable banks, surly I just flash the 256kb bios file to using the second bank. Is this right?

Thanks!
