Xbox controller doesn't work in FlashBIOS

I'm new here. I just installed an x3 chip with X3CP and xapt3r. Everything was going great until I tried to flash. FlashBIOS 3.0.1 comes up fine, and everything looks right, but my controller doesn't work. I tried multiple controllers and all four controller ports, but nothing works. The controllers work fine if I hold the power button and go into the microsoft bios. I can still play games, so the connection to the motherboard is good. I don't know why the controllers don't work with FlashBIOS, as they work with everything else. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Try using Flashbios 3.03 (if your xbox is not v1.6) or if you have a dvd playback kit, you can use that. BTW, are you using the original M$ controller?

small problem gone, GIANT problem found

Thanks for the tip about the DVD kit. I got one used at gamestop after none the controllers, even a stock m$ one, worked. I was able to flash the newest x3 bios in bank 1234, but the xbox turned itself off a second after the auto-restart. I tried a few more times with other x3 bios versions in 5678, but it did the same thing. Ironically, the evox m8 bios worked fine in bank 8, so I'm using that. I know it defeats the purpose of buying an x3 instead of a 2.6, but it's better than non-functioning box. I am, needless to say, at least thankful for the backup memory when you press power and reset at the same time, or else I would have two non-functioning versions of the x3 bios and no way to fix it. If anyone else has had similar issues with the x3 bios, please let me know. Maybe I got a bad chip, but I'm relativly happy with the evox bios, so I'll just leave bank 8 the way it is, and reflash 1234 when a new x3 bios comes out.

i had the same problem with my 1.6 the only way it works for me for some reason is to leave the controller un hooked thgen plug it in

What is your dip switch position when flash with X3 bios? How about try to remove the front panel switch and then re-flash with x3_3294, this will automatically flash to banks 1-4 (first 1mb bank). You're missing a lot of things if you don't use an X3 bios on your X3 chip...

a 256k BIOS works and the 1Mb doesn't ?!

Flashing the 1 MB Version of the correct X3 BIOS Version works ?
Have you choosen the right file for your mobo Version .... when the
FlashBios 3.0.1 works for you I guess you don't have an 1.6 MoBo !

maybe you should recheck your soldering of Pin 13 and above !

A missing connection in the upper pinheader area can cause something like this ...
