GENERAL Xbox Controller LED mod supplies???

hey guys i was wondering what kind of LED and ceramic resistors i should use in any controller mods and what kind of surface LED's i should use for the ring. id also like to know where a good place to buy these supplies at (website that is recommended by anyone).

Oh, and i was also wondering how to get the LED"s to turn off when the controller is not in use. i usually end up having to take the battery pack out to not wast the juice lol.. not too skilled with LED mods yet as you can see

You can use 0603 3v3 SMD LEDs for the RoL on the controller.

As for other LEDs, it's up to you. a 1/4w resistor to the correct value should suffice depending on the circuit.

oh and can any one tell me the point i should solder my wires to so that when i turn my controller on and off my LED's will do the same? i soldered them to the vdd point and the negative on the coil that the batteries connect to but the LED stays on even when the controller is not in use

never mind i learned about installing a transistor. sorry for my ignorance lol thanks.
