Xbox does not turn on

I have a 2.6 chip installed and have used it for several months with no problems. However, recently I have been having fragging issues. I found the problem, just a loose solder point. After putting the xbox back together it would not turn on. I eventually found that if I keep the power disconnected from my dvd drive my xbox will turn on. Works fine from my hdd, but no dvd abilities. Any ideas Thanks

check pins in back of dvd drive are not bent on to another pin
