I installed my x3 on a 1.1 xbox and now the xbox doesn't power up. I used the wire install because of the solder in the lpc port. after the xbox wouldn't power up I removed the chip reset all the connections so it should power like a standard xbox but it still won't boot.

The xbox is not christmas fragging or anything, it just doesn't power up period. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Ummmm, not that I think you're an idiot or anything, but did you make sure the power cable is completely plugged in.....?

Other than some disconnected cable, I'm not sure how you could make your Xbox not boot at all......

Did you try installing the chip with a spot welder or something...

Alright.

So I'm installing for my friend since I've done a lot of installs. I found the problem. Everything works fine until I hook up his CD rom drive. Don't ask me why but it boots with no peripherals, and with just the stock HDD unit. His drive is a philips and whenever I plug it in it doesn't boot

Liteon 74850 Trouble updating Firmware From Ixtreme to Lt+

Okay Where To Start...

I am Currently Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.
I have LiteOn 74850 That I have Updated Numerous Times since the first ixtreme. However previously i used XP and remember it always being a pain but not this bad. I started out pulling my saved dummy.bin file and spoofing it to the ixtreme lt+ 1.1. that went good. Then did the LiteOn Erase to put into vendor mode. Got it to vendor mode no problem. but everytime i went to Write The Firmware. Everything was successful and then said write verification failed. So I was like i'll Try it again. Needless to say i tried maybe three more times still getting the same verification Failed. So i tried doing the liteon erase again and now i cannot get it to vendor mode for nothing. I've tried half tray, i've tried rebooting, i've tried liteon erase always returns x80, i've tried just doing the read, i've tried the outro. so finally after numerous restarts and numerous computer freezing (I'm Guessing due to the Drive being completely blank and windows trying to read from it), i decided to take another approach. I installed the latest iprep and definitions. I have had previously experience with iprep but everything seems so different since ixtreme days. none of the commands are the same and neither is the file locations where it saves the firmware. Now the error i am getting on iprep is no atapi drive found for the 7000 which i know for a fact is where the drive is located. (This is probably cause of it freezing during the erase.) so i tried just typing littool into the command line and comes up with parameter error so i tried typing - littool cfw.bin 7000 and it says cannot locate source firmware. I know the firmware is in there because it is the one that i made from jungleflasher. so i'm guessing i probably just typed it in wrong or have it out of context. I know there is away to flash this drive. I must be missing something.

i'll appreciate any help i can get on this.

thanks in advance

You can create the new custom firmware for your drive with jungleflasher and copy it to the root directory on a flash drive that contains a bootable Iprep with dosflash.

okay, in iprep i have the custom firmware that i created in jungleflasher named cfw.bin and do not know how to write... i go through the regular steps. type LIT 12345678 and i know exactly which number it's on 7000 but nothing ever shows up on that port and when i select that port it says no atapi drive found. when i type littool into the command line i'm not sure how to enter the full command and always get cannot locate source firmware.
