Hi im having some problems with my box after my attempt to mod by soldering, instead of the adapter I used on my old one. Please give me some advice as im really stuck.

ok... this is what happened:

Opened Xbox (1.6), installed Xecuter 2.6 CE modchip. Used the "pin head" or something like that instead of all the different coloured wires. Soldered loads of wires at the back of the motherboard. I left out the cyan as it said I could do. Soldered all wires correctly according to my tutorial. Closed Xbox. Booted Xbox. Flashbios v3 appeared, asking for me to flash. Tried the Xecuter Bios CD I used on my old Xbox (that time it worked fine first time). Nothing happened. Burned another CD. Still nothing. Spitted out the CD after a min or so. Tried DVD, same result. I figured it had to be the DVD drive that for some reason don’t read what my old one did (and this is the so highly rated Samsung drive, and my old 1 is a Phillips and reads anything I give it), so I opened my old 1 and swapped the DVD roms, inserted my bios CD and YES it worked! Flashing bios message appears with the bar moving quickly across. I look away for a second and the Xbox turns off. I turn it back on and
it stays on, for about 1 second, then turns it self off before automatically turning
itself on, and off again, then on and it stays on but nothing appears on screen. The light around the ON button is now red instead of the usual green. The box still works with the chip off. Boots up as normal. With the chip turned on, it just keeps
restarting.

What can I do? Is the chip screwed up? Is it to do with the flashing? Wires? Please let me know. Any help is so highly appreciated!

Thank you

What Bios was on that CD you used? Was it A xecuter 2.6 bios?

Sounds like you used the wrong bios which is why you have a problem.

Try switching to bank 2 to see if you have flashBios on that. If you do then flash with the correct bios and make sure it is the 1.6 X2 bios and NOT the bios for version 1.0-1.5

If you dont have flashBios on bank 2 then you will have to either use a programmer or do a hot swap
