Ok here's the deal, Ive got a box its modded with an excecuter X3 and has a front panel with usb ports fitted, ive added a 160 gig hd.

What i want to know is can I use an external hard drive, ive seen to ones that attach via a USB port for PC's! I want to save games to it as my 160gig is full!

Any suggestions? Apart from getting an even bigger internal HDD

external HD's can only be used as memory cards. if you have a 160GB HD... that's full of games, i really doubt that you are playing all of them frequently enough to warrant them being on the HD... Just use the original disc (assuming you have the original disc, because Piracy Is Bad). Your other option is to put a second HD in the xbox... (NO, i will not tell you how to do it. You can search for yourself).

"piracy is bad for the developer, not the consumer"

-me

you really think saying "piracy is bad" is really going to stop him from doing it, i bet 99% of those games on his hdd are rented and copied, or from his friend or his old games, which he probably sold after copying them (the ones he used to own). Im assuming he just found out about modding about a month ago and the fact that he can copy his games excites him and finds the need for quantitiy, not quality.. meaning he'll try to get his hands on any game he can, even if he plays it only once, if that.. he will be considered 'cool' to his friends and it will ^up^ his ego maiking him feel superior to Microsoft and all game developers. He will later offer xbox upgrades to classmates at school and get a quick buck. I myself do not condone piracy, but that doesnt mean I dont do it. Piracy will never be stopped no matter how hard companies try. .

That's all well and good. But the only reason i said it was because this site doesn't need any unwanted eyes looking through here a reading that Piracy is ok.

thanks

Hmm, been a while since someone discussed me in the 3rd person, but not as long ago since I attended school. And im not sure my mates would be impressed with me having copied lots of sh*t games. Reality is ive got 50+ games and buy new ones regulary, problem is i want to keep them stored away from prying and sticky hands of my toddler.. solution? save my games onto HDD and store my games safely in the loft!

Thanks for the help guys!

Its not difficult to see why people dont take up modding! If they are so looked down upon when they try to grow their knowledge!

alfacorsa if you have a DVD burner and are able to network with you pc just make a backup since you own the game there is nothing wrong with that. Plus is you kid gets a hold of it no big deal you just make another. My daughter has wreck alot of the backups that I have made I think she probably has about 3 or 4 copys of forza by now.

Wow forza, forza is basically brand new... I've come to a point where if it's not on my HD I don't want to get up and grab it, no matter how close it may be, so I understand why you want to do the external HD thing, just did it myself actually. llama.com has some external enclosuses, switches, y molex splitters, and 5 connector IDE cables (even though you only need 4). These will help you get the job done, have fun :)
