Try pulling the HDD out and starting, if I recall, E79 was HDD problems(someone correct me if I'm wrong). Also, what kenel was your original nand on? I think, just like you said, update your LDV on your original nand. Try building it with lastest 360 multi builder.

yes E79 is HDD problem also bootloader problem as well------------------------------------------------------EDIT:This error occurs when your harddrive is defective, it might still work sometimes....
There is also a small chance that it is a cold joint under the Southbridge causing problems with the I/O of the HDD.
It can also be related to wiring the diodes while JTAGGING.
Couldn't start xam.xex

yep I have 4 Original nand dumps all of them compared fine also I cant boot into xell cause cool runner is defective and I just got this console today manufactured in May 7 2010. Should I just try guessing from what I understand Ldv chnages only after ms update and I haven't run any on it so it should be 0 or 1. but the xbox just freezes at logo some times not even complete logo screen is up and it freezes

If you have the original Nand dump there is no reason for you to make a retail nand just flash back the original are you getting any errors when flashing the nand back to the console

360 multi builder v0.82 navigate to my360 folder look for options.ini txt file, in here you need to input your mobo/CPUkey/LDV/DVDkey. Save file and run .exe, don't forget to put your nanddump, cpukey, kv, smc in my360 folder(not 100% about putting all those files in my360 folder). After your image is built, don't forget to erase your input in the options.ini txt file.

at the moment he dose not know what dash the xbox was on so if it was on dashboard 14699 he will be make a retail nand of 14719 which he would have to do a LDV change

But with you flashing your original nand dump your console should be booting right up unless there is an error some where which there is upload your nand so i or wnyconsoles can take a look an see if there is a problem in your nand

If I post a link to my nand here is it a bad thing like does it contain information which shouldn't be given out like my KV and other things ?

NAND Looks fine. It's actually the first Slim nand, 12625 and LDV is 1. Unless OP ran a update there is no need to change the LDV value.

The nand is fine so it should work without an issue, E79 on a Slim is more than likely related to the nand, my first RGH was a Slim and I had some major E79 issues. You cannot create a retail image without CPU key so that option is not available. This is what I think happened, so try and remember exactly what you did as it is crucial if fixing this.

Did you.....
Dump nand
Possibly update the system?
RGH Install (CoolRunner)
Bad CoolRunner/Soldering
Flashed stock NAND back (without dumping the new updated NAND)?

This would allow the system to boot 1 ROL cycle but while loading 2nd ROL cycle would post E79 and or freeze. If this is what happened then the only thing to do that I can think of off the top of my head would be to RGH it, create ECC from 12625 nand, boot Xell, get CPU Key, dump kv from 12625 and inject into a donor nand.

If this is the case with a update, you need to figure out which one as if it was 14717+ the CB's are updated so that creates a whole new mess to deal with. This could be very time consuming.

Probably best if Martin C chimes in on this thread as he knows more about this type of thing than I do.
