Xbox freezes as soon as I hit "Update" for dashlaunch.

Complete noob here, I paid to have my xbox modded a few years ago. I have been on dashlaunch v3.05 ever since then, but trying to update this sh*t myself, I somehow went down to v2.29. Anyway, I've had this same problem ever since the beginning. I download dashlaunch 3.11, go to Xexmenu, and run the default.xex, the dashlaunch updater comes up (the screen with the rocket in the background) and it says "DashLaunch version does not match! Currently running blah blah Do you want to update?" and I click Update, and then my xbox just freezes. No black screen or anything, it just stays right there on that same exact screen asking if I want to update, but my xbox is completely frozen and unresponsive.

Anyone know how the hell I can update dashlaunch without it freezing? my xbox is not connected to the network, so I have to do it with a USB. one step at a time please, I have never messed with any of this stuff before yesterday.

Copy it to the Internal MU or an internal HDD and try from there.

I have tried running it from the USB, HDD, and MU and it does the same thing every time.

Try downloading a fresh copy of dashlaunch 3.11. Where did u download it from.

I have downloaded two different 3.11, as well as 3.10 and 3.09.

When I tried to install dashlaunch 3.11 it would freeze for me too. I just had to unplug the ethernet cable and it worked.
