I tried almost everything to try to resolve my issuse. For some reason after a period of time my XBOX freezes. I thought it was just in game play, but while fooling around with it last night, not even loading the dashboard and looking through the forums on my PC, my XBOX made a light click sound that sounds exaclty when you cut on the HD. Keep in mind that the bios was still up and running but as soon as I wanted to load into my Evox Dash it just stop and paused. I tried updating to the newest X3 Bios, done the 90% of all causes post for games freezes (so it wasn't that) but I don't think it the games anymore. Should I maybe upgrade the ATA cable to 80 pin or maybe switch to Evox Bios instead of the X3 Bios, I'm totally running out of ideas...

Game Disk Read Error, Reflashing?

Hey all, well I bought an Xbox 360 (J-tagged) from a friend, I knew it had a disc read problem, but I had another 360 CD drive laying around, so I bought the system from him for $40, I switched the drives, thinking it would automatically work, since I drive I have at my house works, and well I booted it up, and it still plays music cds fine, but if you insert a game, it says "Play DVD" (Insead of "Play Lost Planet 2"), so I click play dvd anyways, and a Xbox 360 wallpaper pops up, and it just sits there...

So, I unplugged the power to the J-Tag, it was inline where the 2 80mm fans plug into, but the J-tag is still soldered onto the board. But does that have anything to do with the problem?

Also the 360 is not banned, I can chat, and all on Live perfect.

It just trips me out, that it says read dvd, instead of game, even after switching drives.

Any help will be much appreciated! -Justin

Re: Game Disk Read Error, Reflashing?

Because there is a unique DVD key on the broken drive that needs to be flashed onto the new drive as this is used to pair up with the DVD Key on the CPU. This needs to be done if you want to play any games on your console (through the DVD drive).

Look at the JungleFlasher tutorial here for "Spoofing".

Oh one quick question, will that ban me from Live? Just curious.

Nobody knows for sure but I would doubt so. As long as you flashing it with stock firmware and not hacked firmware.
