just got myself a third party HDTV AV pack. when i hook the xbox to a component interlace input, I get double screen. on the progressive input, everything looks fine but i can't tell if its high def or not. the high def game i have all looks the same. if it is HD, then its not much different from composite input, not enough to even notice.

i enable all the high def setting on the x3 video setting, including wide screen. i can't find any setting on evox.

is there something i'm misisng?

i have a 30 in lcd tv syntax olevia
x3 on v1.6 running the most recent evox

thanks for the input.

definately don't want it on interlaced input leave it on progressive
then in the ms dash enable 480p and 720p (no real need for 1080i, esp since only 2 games support it), then in most games the quality will only be 480p (normal resolution is 480i), you should be able to notice a better crispness, and somewhere on your tv there should be something you can hit that will tell you the current resolution the tv is in.
almost all games support 480p, fewer support 720p, and some only support 720p if in widescreen mode

does it matter if my LCD TV is HD ready but does not have a HD tuner. I plugged my xbox component cable directly into my HD ready LCD tv. do i have to plug the xbox into a HD tuner then to the HD ready TV in order to get the HD quality?

thanks

flash Samsung SH-D163B with 0800 firmware

Hello,

I am looking to set-up a dedicated game ripping drive in my PC. I bought a Samsung SH-D163B dvd-rom and have attempted to flash the drive with the ixtreme 1.6 0800 firmware but have had no luck using Jungleflasher.

Any help would be great!

Cheers

Your not supposed to flash it with iExtreme firmware, you have to flash it with the Kreon firmware. Check for some tutorials on Google.

Re: flash Samsung SH-D163B with 0800 firmware

I read somewhere that the Kreon firmware doesn't support SSv2..and once you flash it with that you can't change it.
It does say in the txt file along with the 0800 firmware:
"This firmware is =NOT FOR USE IN A CONSOLE= and is provided with the intended use of being in a dedicated "ripping" drive."
I just can't work out how to flash it with the firmware.

You need an Xbox drive to flash it with 0800 firmware you cannot flash a PC drive with 0800.
