Ok I have had this xbox lying around not fixed for ages and have never got round to fixing it.

The problem I had was over heating in which I brought some thermal paste and solved the problem, after months of playing I started to get a lot of freezing when I was playing games.

Legit or Downloaded games.....

The xbox will load to the dashboard fine with no problems.

I then go to load the game and it will freeze as soon as I start playing it.

I have used Artic Silver 5 Thermal paste on the two chips inside and re-seated the heatsinks.

I am wondering if this may be a laser problem with the DVD drive? The freezing issue has gotton a lot worse from say 4hours of play to just 5seconds now.

I have cleared the hard drive cache and done a system reset with the sync then power on button to clear any bad updates.

I have got a CD cleaner on order so will clean the DVD drive with it too.

It has the LT1.1 on the drive but I have not gone online since I have had these errors.

I am thinking of buying a new slim drive but then its all the bother of flashing it again.

I have also added a youtube video showing you my problem, tonight the game started to load a little bit longer than usual but you will see at the end of the video the games crash on start up.

Video: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pJw0lYLDnc"]Xbox Freeze - YouTube[/ame]

Here are some details for my drive

Firmware : LT1.1

Pack: Xbox 360 Core
Stock Bundle Video mode: PAL Manufacturer date: 2008-03-11 DVD Drive: Philips-BenQ VAD6038

Be very thankfull if any support is given.

I dont think posts should have an effect on things.

I have xecuters products and enjoy solving issues but this issue has sent me off path.

How the hell do I find out if its over heating again or the laser.

My hunch is it will be the laser I am unsure.

Let me just answer it to end this post. It's going to get RROD so research for the best fix or leave it like that until it flash's causing more damage. Your choice. Topic answered.
