Can some help me.
I have a 1.6 with the X3 chip installed.
The installation went fine. When I play original games on the MS dashboard or my back-ups the Xbox just cuts off after about 10-15 min. I read on the post about games freezing, but I havent read anything about the Xbox just radomly shutting down. I even upped the fan speed to 70% thinking it might be over heating.

any ideas or suggestion

Yes when I disable the chip, it also turns off. It tuned off after about 8 min into playing POP2. I have the Phillips HDD in my xbox.

well guys, I had POP2 running for like 4 hours in a cold house with the cover off, it didnt cut off this time....Maybe it was an overheating issue..but here is my question..this was a brand new xbox, 1 day old out the box. My old xbox V1.0 would stay in the same spot all day no matter what the temp in the house and never turn off. With this new Xbox and new modchip installed, is it more prone to overheating if the house is hot. Basicley, if I didnt mod my xbox would it still cut off, or is the chip more sensitive, which causes it to shut down when hot.

Thank You guy for your help

Did you play around with any of the heatsinks at all? Is everything definitely fixed in place properly.

There's no inherent heat issue with the 1.6 BTW.

No I didnt do anything after I put it together the first time....I did everything right the first time through..all I did was take the cover off the xbox and had the fan speed to 70% from 20%. But it hasnt craped out yet....just hard to understand why it would be overheating...but the end result is cool now...

I had this happen to me once it was because were the Power/Eject hooks up to my X3 mod chip was bent (the pins) it could very well be any were in this line of wires i would check all the wires and pins to see if they are hooked to what they shold be hooked up to to make sure all is ok(this gos as far as the sodder on the boards are not broke.

i fixed my xbox by getting a new pin and soddering it to my modchip.

on another hand it could just be the power button on your xbox
>try to unplug just the power button and then jumping the wires were the xbox button wold be if it dos not cut off U need a button

i hope this was a help

Streaming without Xbox LIVE

So, back when they sent out the ban my xbox was banned. Not too big of a deal since i don't play many games online. although, without xbox live I can't stream media from my computer. is there any hack/mod that can install that codec without being logged into xbox live?

Re: Streaming without Xbox LIVE

only the JTAG hack can do this

i'm sorry, you are out of luck

but you can use TVersity to have your computer transcode the files so your xbox can read them without live
