I saw a clip on youtube of this guy showing off an xbox laptop and wanted to try that. I figure that I need and xbox mobo, a laptop with DVD-ROM and HDD. I pull out the laptop mobo, drill holes for the xbox mobo, and put the xbox mobo in. I get a laptop to ide adapter and plug in the HDD and another adapter for the DVD-ROM. And then I make one for the xbox mobo to run from the laptop PSU. Then I somehow make adapters for the monitor, keyboard and touchpad. Then I somehow have to mod the DVD-ROM to play X-box DVDs, but still keep DVD playback... The last and easiest part will be modding the end product.

You will want to use all of the original xbox components. You will want to use the pcb and laser from a 360 drive, as well as the hdd. It is easier to modify them to fix then to create your own custom firmware to make it work properly with the existing laptop drive. That would be nearly impossible. You wouldnt need to mess with the PSU - just leave it in the brick as it currently is.
