Uhhh... I don't think this will work.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you're saying you can turn on the XBox with the chip enabled, run your dashboard, select your game from the list, go into it, and then shut off your chip and just play on Live? It doesn't work that way, or at least in theory it doesn't!

When you signed up for LIve, you gave M$ permission to look at what BIOs you are running. It is true: you could shut the chip off, but you are still running the Xecuter Bios! They will see that and ban you. I think. :)

you are correct but i think once you disable the modchip the xecuter bios automatically go back to M$ bios

im almost positive you will get banned if you do that.

the Xecuter bios are still loaded and would require a reboot to go to the M$ bios

**you will get banned**

ps:: how do u turn off the X3 without rebooting anyways? (not even possible i think)

You are correct EMAXX620. I don't believe that the X3 can be disabled while playing. To shut it off, you must reboot with chip disabled. By the way, you aren't a Linux user by chance? :) Perhaps a developer?

Oh well it's cool! I'm just glad to see another Linux devotee out there. I reformatted my computer about 2 weeks ago to Red Hat 8.0... I'm never going back to Windows again...

linuxn00b2004, I am sure that you are correct in your assumptions here...

If you boot with the Xecuter Bios, you would HAVE to reboot with the chip off for the M$ bios to load.

The question was asked about how long it would take M$ to ban you? Try it and find out. You won't have long enough to even reconsider.

If you could play copied games on XBL, there would be a lot more posts talking about it.
