Xbox live-enabled games freezing at title screen

I have tried playing a couple of Xbox Live-enabled games from my HDD, but once I ge to the title screen and try to start an offline game the screen freezes and I can't do anything, even reset the xbox from the controller. All of my other games run fine, except for the xbox live-enabled ones.

I know I can't play on Live with the modchip enabled, but I'm just trying to play an offline game.

Has this happened to anyone and have you resolved this?

Thanks in advance.

This may help you out the tray opens so you can put the bios cd in. Then i think it will load bios
here a guild i found on how to make the bios and what you will need

Go to this site for full guild
http://www.xbox-modchips.com/tutorials/x2_2_flashbios_v1_0.htm

Phase 2 - Flashing
- Power up the Xbox with the mod chip on, unprotected with bank2 selected. Your drive tray should eject and your screen though look like this: FlashBIOS Screen Shot.Put the CD in the tray and close it. FlashBIOS should tell you the CD "BIOS" has been found and begin to load your new BIOS. It will automatically shutdown when done.
- If your CD isn't recognized (doesn't tell you the name of the CD), then go back into Nero and try the Track at Once burning method. If that still doesn't work then go to
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=11&t=12727http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=11&t=12727http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=11&t=12727t
and find out what media works best for your DVD Drive.
- If you CD is recognized and it tells you "No BIOS Found... Halting!" then go back and recheck the names of your files and make
sure bank2 is selected along with the BIOS being unprotected. If all that is correct then try a larger dummy file. If all else fails, you are still doing something wrong... probably something very simple you are overlooking.
- After the flash, you should have the latest X2 BIOS on bank1 and the original FlashBIOS on bank2.

let me know how you wen,t

definetly turn off the auto-sign in as stated above, you can also delete the dashupdate and update xbe files from your hdd backups

I turned off the auto sign-in on the M$ dashboard but the games still won't load past the title screen. The only other thing I can think of as odd is that my hard drive is one of the few that can't be locked. Would that make any difference?

it shouldn't matter whether the hdd is locked or not

which bios are you running?
which program did you use to make your backups?

I'm not sure what BIOS I'm using. Everywhere it mentions the BIOS it just says Unknown next to it. Is there another place I can find out which BIOS I'm using? As far as programs used to make backups, the games in question were downloaded, but other downloaded non-live games work fine. It also seems like any live enabled game, backup or original doesn't work.

The dashboard I'm using is UnleashX 0.38.0515A Build 565 (evoxdash.xbe)

So, I got it working. Another post mentioned to clear the cache out of the E drive. Did that and everything is working great!

Thanks for all your help!
