Hi guys,I'm going to get the x3 chip in the next couple days, but I sign up for xbox live (I think I did),I went all the way until asked me for the card code and I did'nt log in because the card I wanted to use was already expired (2 month free card). And my question is if I still can change the original hard drive for a bigger one without been banned or is it to late since already sing up, because of the marriage theory? Any help will be greatly apreciated, Thank you guys.

I did the same exact thing you did, and I've been up and running since Nov. 9th.

[Resolved] Liteon 93450 Issue - Drive Tray Doesn't Open

I got the Original Firmware, Key and Flashed my Liteon 93450 through Jungleflasher. However when I hooked it up back to my 360 and tried to open the tray the 360 ended up crashing the 360. So I cleaned up my original soldering and re-soldered it and now the issue is when I try to open the drive tray it does nothing and the screen goes from Opening to Closing.

I used the two cut method above Pin101 and 3.3v point, when I just regularly hook up the drive to my PC I don't see it being recognized however if I use a probe and put into vendor mode I can see it along with the firmware being LT and my DVD Key.

I guess my question is my soldering still screwed up since the drive won't eject or am I looking at a different issue here?

sounds like poor soldering on the repair!
post up some pictures!

As requested here's the pictures of the PCB. I did end up making stupid small scratches here and there thanks to my stupid shaky hand syndrome but I don't believe those are affecting anything.

mate that bottom repair looks like you have connected the trace to the ground! - looks like you have laid a run of solder along your cut line?

remove it

and turn that line of solder 90 degrees - so it only connects the trace line!

Re: Liteon 93450 Issue - Drive Tray Doesn't Open

A fiberglass pen and a voltmeter (continuity tester) are really essential items when doing this mod.
My first 2 tries of doing this (without the proper tools) I failed both times and could not pinpoint my mistakes. Although once I bought the extra tools to help me out its a piece of cake, especially with the fiberglass pen.

Use the continuity tester to test that your traces are cut properly, soldered back properly, and it not grounded onto the other areas around it - this way you know its not your soldering/cutting thats the problem.

Yea I do have a multimeter however I am missing a scratch pen which I should go and purchase. Just an additional question when I remove that solder should I just fill in the cut between the two trace lines or the trace/track lines themselves?

I'm not sure what you mean there mate.

Just solder the gap that you cut in the trace ( --- --- ) , Don't solder the trace to the parts on either side of it. You'd be best getting a hold of a fiberglass pen.

Re: Liteon 93450 Issue - Drive Tray Doesn't Open

Yea I plan on getting that fiberglass pen. What I meant is should I solder the PCB portion between the two horizontal trace lines. Which fills the gap between the trace line but not the trace itself.

Or do I solder the trace lines (the dark green line) to fill in the gap that was made? Which leaves the PCB gap between the two traces still cut.

I think you have misunderstood the PCB board.

The electrical paths are shown as LIGHT GREEN (but without the dots). The area that is full of dots is basically blank.
Those dark green areas don't play any part in the conductivity they are just a perimeter of the tracks.

I've edited the picture you posted and edited to show the electrical paths in red and the cuts you made in blue dots. Just add the solder the the red path (light green on PCB) reconnects.

Re: Liteon 93450 Issue - Drive Tray Doesn't Open

Thanks for the clarification you are correct I was thinking the wrong way for the electrical path. I am in the process of getting the fiberglass pen but just have to wait for my ride to get here.

In the meantime I thought I would do as you said above and just put a little more solder on the correct electrical path and I broke the "solder connection" where the perimeter track was and this time I got a different result from my 360. The center light will just flash and nothing else happens, nothing appears on the screen, etc.

I then put the solder connection back where the perimeter track was and my original issue occurs where the drive won't open. I will get the fiberglass pen, clean it all up and give it another go.

Re: Liteon 93450 Issue - Drive Tray Doesn't Open

the hole problem here is that your not understanding the problem so let me try and help

1.looking at the pic you gave us the top red line he put there with the two cuts take a little piece of wire and lay it down and solder both ends as well as the center bewteen the cuts and while your at it clean it up a tad so it dont go to nothing else and with the fiberglass pin make your trace show the gold it doesnt matter how much of the green you get rid of as to follow the shakey hands you have as you pionted out

2.on the other cut you follow the red line not the blue dots in your cut all it needed was just a tad of solder to connect that back together but in the direction of the red line he put there so get rid of the solder for the blue dots and you should be good to go

3.thats is why they have made the switch to put there for people to follow that is so simple even a cave man can follow like gieco says

The rebuild boards (+LT Switch etc) make it ALOT more harder than it actually is, I found most people agree with this on another forum.

I'm not sure what your on about with the cuts, the cuts I posted shown by the blue dots are fine. The top one separates the 'hole' from the track with one single cut across it rather than separating part of the trace midway with the two cuts - its the same effect although easier.

To the original poster, I would clean up ALL of that solder (solder braid would be very useful here), go over it all with a fiberglass pen so that the copper traces and your cuts are exposed then take another pic of it so we can see exactly what you've done. Its hard to see your top cut from all the solder.

Re: Liteon 93450 Issue - Drive Tray Doesn't Open

I resolved the issue it turns out that my Pad 101 was burnt/destroyed. I did some research on the Internet and what I ended up doing was placing a wire from the track line where the cut was made onto a different track. Along with cleaning up my solder on the bottom so it only fills the track line cut not the ground.

Here's a picture using my existing image. Note: On my board the solders are cleaned up this picture is only showing where I placed the wire for reference.

Thank you guys for your help and thank you for the reference to purchase the desolder braid and fiberglass pen it helped alot :)

Glad to hear it.
Yep the fiberglass pen and voltmeter are really a must when doing these - As I discovered the hard way.
