Just download the latest release of XBMC from the FTP site - it should contain all the correct codecs anyway. I always delete the old files and copy over new ones..HarshReality said:Conditional yes... with XBMC you can compile it yourself BUT you have to add the codecs to it otherwise it wont![]()
yea, me neither, just downloaded, ftp'd...good to go!matt77303 said:ive never had to add codecs in xbmc, especially for summit as commaon as a .avi file.
Matt
Which is what I'd suggest for anyone new to the scene!hitsuji said:However if you download the precompiled version then the codecs are already added
I add to them because rather than download what somebody else thinks is XBMC I compile from the CVS. There are of course reliable sources but the versions floating around the net these days you never know what your really dumping on your box untill you try and access the xbe file.digthebox said:no you definitely don't need to add in any codecs. AVI'S are handled by mplayer.dll.
