E71: possibly a dashboard update error, Check below in the "Console Reset Codes" for instructions. If that does not work there is no other solution and the console must be sent back to MS for repair.

Does it boot to xell.

I have encountered a similar issue with a customers RGH console where after I connect the hard drive it will give me a E71 error as well. It turned out to be a mixture of a bad hard drive and also bad blocks in the nand image so what I ended up doing was redump the nand and remapped bad blocks manually then after changing to a confirmed working hard drive that seemed to fix the issue.

I don't know if this applies to your scenario but I guess it is worth a short.

Did you have any bad blocks at all when you dumped the nand? Have you tested to see if the E71 will occur with just the HD connected or just the DVD drive connected separately?

So from what your explaining it only E71's when you boot to the dashboard and Xell will load fine? One other thing I suggest to check is what the DVD drive OSIG does it show when you load the nand in 360 Flash and does it match with the physical drive installed?

E71 can be shown if you have xex in the root of your usb and/or hdd.

Make sure of this before coing forward with anything else

Yes yes its wrkin thnx alot. But nw the problem is it is not booting when i connect the 360HDD (hav tried 2-3 different HDD) or the dvd Drive Some one advise pliz
Are your wires routed like in the tutorials? (long way around) resetwire coild up under xclamp? Many things to try, most are fixed by the "right" routing.

had the same problem remapped bad blocks dont know what dash you installed but used ggbuild =and did a 13609 dash installed that. Booted up via xell installed dash. Then used ggbuild built 14699 from 13609 dash installed again via xell .Bit long winded but found this sorted out my e71 error on falcon board I was working on.
