I've been at this for about a week now, searching and searching to find the answer, I've been away for a year and I just got back, I go to update my xbox and it got suck at 10%, so I did what any DIY guy would do and I quickly searched for a solution to the problem. I found the update tools on xbox.com which didnt work (E101 code) so then I decided it was time to open i up.

After about two days of research and struggling I gathered that the only way I can fix my hard drive is through linux, so I formatted the drive ready to put the new files and scripts onto the drive, but I've had so much trouble trying to get any form of linux working on my PC that I've given up for now.

I'm requesting some input as to what I could try with the hard drive and if it isn't to much trouble some suggestions about linux.

All help is much appreciated.

J-Runner has an option for rebuilding Xbox One harddrive without linux...... This does require the files off your hard drive though. As for linux, there are plenty of live CDs/USB that will boot into a working enviornment with no install.

That is what I've heard too, also, finally got Linux to work, followed a step by step to re-partition the drive, but it fails around the last 3 partitions and now I'm stuck again
