i got the xbox when it came out i got it modded from one of my good friends he put a fan mod and everything. i got the red ring a week or so ago and it was the ram he reflowed it and everything it lasted like a week i didnt play it much. turned it on today and same red lights i dont know what to do.

Contact the person who tried to repair it initially. It's really nothing more than a hardware issue.
he said it was a ram problem so he re did the soider and told me it wouldnt last long he told me he would re flow it but still wouldnt help

So take the console back to him. Either way it's an issue which needs resolved by someone who repairs consoles.

i was looking to get it reballed but cant find any place where i live to get it reballed.....so i have another xbox im just going to get it flashed...i was wondering my buddy who flashed my xbox back in the day put a fan mod on it...is that necessary with a flashed xbox

No it is not needed. Some people like the fan mods but I'm not a fan of them - lol it was a pun I just got. I've heard some people say the fan mod can cause issues. I don't know how true that is because I've never experienced them but I feel I don't need fan mods. I think cleaning the system once in a while, replacing the thermal paste, keep it off carpet, and making sure it is an inch or so off the surface you have it on helps a lot. I use the tops on 2 liter sodas to elevate mine and it seems to help. I feel if the console is going to RR then it will. If it does it will need to be reflowed or reballed properly. That is key to getting a console back from the dead. Too many people attempt stopping the fans while the system is running to let it overheat. They don't get they're gonna mess their system up more than it already is.
