Ok i have a Xbox version 1.6 that i moded with the X3 and 250 gig HD. After about 2 - 3 minutes the Xbox will just shut down. Not sure why it is doing this, the fan in the back is turning and it doesnt really have time to get really hot. Does anyone have any suggestions ? I did search the board but didnt find anything related.

Thanks

I forgot to mention that this has been working fine for about 2 weeks, then all of a sudden now there is a problem.

What are you doing when it shuts down?
I know XBMC has an auto shutdown option if it's left idle for a while, are you running that?

When it shuts down what happens, does the front led blink orange or does it do something else or nothing at all? Can you restart it right away or do you have to wait to start it back up after it turns off

try wiggling the powerplug (when its plugged in) in the back and see if it makes any popping noises. If it does, unplug it, take it apart, and reinforce the solder connecting the two pins the power cord connects to to the power supply.

Nothing at all, it just turns off..... no you have to wait a minute.

I will have to give that a try.

Any other suggestions ?

If you have a dodgy solder joint it could be expanding and breaking the contact as it gets warm. Have a good look at your soldering (Especialy the Alt 5V) . A good indication of this is if you leave the box for a while and it works ok again for a few minutes.
