I sure hope not, this is my first time opening this Xbox. I haven't put anything on the board.what is that... hot glue???
Could you link me to a tutorial of some sort that shows the process? And would Microsoft really have done that?Looks like a cut trace with flux over it from an attempted fix. Looks like an easy one there if you have an iron and some small kynar wire.
If the broken traces causes any issue and was there from factory I'm sure the first buyer would have sent it back.Could you link me to a tutorial of some sort that shows the process? And would Microsoft really have done that?
After researching and watching a few videos, I was wondering if scraping off flux residue on the broken trace with a screw driver is alright.
You scrape the trace with a glass fibre pen or a scalpel (or similar). Yeah, but that one is not "rebroken", traces doesn't just cut themselves. Also is there a way to tell if the trace was rebroken? I just don't want to go through the process, if it's not the problem
So that might not even be the problem, right? You scrape the trace with a glass fibre pen or a scalpel (or similar). Yeah, but that one is not "rebroken", traces doesn't just cut themselves.
i would defenitly not rule that out as the reason for your problem. are you the first one to ever open that xbox?So that might not even be the problem, right?
Yeah which is strange.i would defenitly not rule that out as the reason for your problem. are you the first one to ever open that xbox?
It's my friends he got it new, he said it stopped working and kept having a red light. So I figured I'd see what I could do myself. It's been down in a garage before he gave it to me. So hopefully the cold didn't cause any more problems.Did you by it new or used?
