Xbox Slim Screen Goes Red

Hi,

My friend has a Xbox Slim 250gb and since yesterday he's had a problem where his screen goes all cracked up and red marks appear everywhere. It happened with two different games but doesn't do it on the dashboard.

I looked online and it said its a sign of the GPU failing (RRoD in older models).

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

that im not sure its better then penny tricks or overheat towel tricks I see put in a service request to have some1 look at it 4 u I had my slim 4 3yrs never had a problem I always took it apart and blew it out or change thermal paste if needed goodluck tho

Of course a proper reflow is better than a towel trick. Are you just posting for the sake of posting again?

He didn't ask about penny or towel tricks. He asked about the RRoD kit.

ROFL. RROD 'kits' give console repair such a bad name. Reflow and reball are the only way to fix a failed BGA. Its used across the board, play station, wii, mobile phones. £30 - £50 is money well spent with the pros on this site. Your console will be better than new.

I don't think its that complicated it's just the kit to do it will cost you £500+ for a bga rework machine
