It was bought from vgs Israel
I just spoke to the manager now he said that it came with Hitachi wich is unhackable or something and they had to change..
they will check what they can do and call me back.
is that even possiable??
They spoke to me again.
They won't change my drive even if I pay the 100$
They said it can be upgraded I just need to pay them..
wtf?
He is telling you the truth the Slim Hitachi 0500 can't be flashed (see here http://c4evaspeaks.com/)...:mad2:

And as I have already said you can't use a spoofed drive (i.e. Lite-on for Hitachi) as it can be detected by M$ during an update and will give the E66 error code....

Your only options now are:-

1) Demand your money back in full or you will report the shop

2) Accept the 'Upgrade' offer and pay the extra $

3) Keep that console for off-line play and buy another one for on-line play

Do you have LIVE in Israel (excuse my ignorance )

You can upgrade with a USB stick or a DVD but you will need the original Hitachi drive or as stated above the console will fail and give the E66 error :mad2:

I'm surprised no one else has commented here but I do not know of any other method to get around your predicament

You could ask a JungleFlasher operative directly if there is a way for you to get around this problem.

Open JungleFasher and go to the last tab on the right and enter their iRc room and ask them.

Or you can download EFnet and go to channel '#jungleflasher' or '#c4e' and ask someone in there

I'm a bit confused now.

If i play ONLY offline games, can i buy kits and upgrade my spoofed drive to LT+ 2.0?
and if and when i want to play online as well i'll buy the original drive and upgrade him to LT+ 2.0?

and whats about the dash upgrade ? that's what you ment by the upgrade with usb stick?

The newer games are going to force you to update your dash eventually, Which won't update because of the fooked drive, I wonder how they spoofed a hitachi slim to a phat drive??, Is there even full dumps of hitachi OFW anywhere?, Maybe your lucky and its a liteon, Then you can find someone in the traders section here to get a new drive and fix it proper, You should throw a brick through the window of that shop if they won't sort it for you

Your xbox will need al hitachi (slim version) drive to allow it to update

I reckon you will also need a new slim drive and a TX replacement PCB or other replacement board that can be written to (MXIC or Kamikazi winbond) as well as the means to read the drive.

Surley that is going cost bucks?? - As mentioned above, they will flash for $100 - surley they are going to have to replace the drive, otherwise they won't be able to update it???

You do have to considor the future updates it may require, therefore the layout for the X360USB and CK3i and the TX replacement board would be invaluable in making the process easier for you

That is a very good point and one I missed completely....you can read a 0500 Hitachi but there isn't a method to write.....therefore it must have been a Slim Lite-On originally

The shop have told him it was originally a Hitachi but it couldn't have been

OP can you speak to the shop again to confirm it was a Hitachi because based on the above statements it CAN'T be....

If it was originally a Lite-On then you can get a replacement drive and flash it so it will accept the dash update :cool2:

Edit:- RED text is incorrect as far as I know...:(

I Called them again to make sure it was hitachi,
but they don't know..
so how can i be sure what was my original drive?
my xbox's serial is 2736xxxx2905 and by reading it means i had lite-on 9504 or 0255. (Manf date is 7/2010) . can i count on this?

what should i buy then to make sure i'll be able to play xgd3 and do the updates?

If there was some way to hook the drive to jungle flasher you could find out, Does your PC mobo have sata ports?, Maybe you have a compatible chipset and you could use the 360 to power the drive and see what it says for OSIG f/w

Edit: for above post by DxCx66, You need to find out what f/w is on the drive

here's a some links for the drive:

http://www.xconsoles.com/liteon-dg-16d4s-9504.html

Don't know anything about these companies but it'll give you an idea

http://www.gaminggenerations.com/st...m-lite-drive-dg16d4s-9504-version-p-3439.html

http://www.fyygame.com/lite-on-dg-16d4s-hw-9504-dvd-rom-drive-for-xbox-360-slim.html

Ps: wait a couple months and throw a brick through that shops front window, Preferably after they close

yeah i have a sata port,
but i don't have the power cable as the xbox drive has.
can i do something about it?

maybe i'll order the X360USB Pro and CK3i first.
then i'll be able to read the drive and we will see what to do next?

REALLY HUGE Thanks for all of you!

I have just been in iRc to ask an Operator and he has confirmed that it must have been a Slim Lite-On originally because he is not aware of any way to write a 0500 Hitachi FW to any drive let alone if you can actually do a full (reliable) dump.

So that solves that mystery...lols

Now if it was originally a Slim Lite-On you have to get the ORIGINAL FULL OFW DUMP to be able to flash a replacement drive.....:eek2:

Dumping the dummy.bin from the drive you have will not work as there is important information missing....:mad2:

Did the shop give you a cd/dvd or any other media with the original dump on it?

If not is there any way you can ask them for it (doubt they'll have it)?

That's a long shot but without it your only way to get all the info is to do the RGH hack...

Use the xbox360 to power the drive and hook the sata of the drive to your pc

Without the original FULL OFW DUMP you can't flash another drive....it will not work :mad2:

If they will not give you the original dummy.bin you will have to do the Reset Glitch Hack to get your FULL DRIVE DETAILS off the mother board.

The RGH is not available yet and requires addittional equipment and a decent level of competence to do it (no offence intended)!

I know this isn't what you want to hear but it is the truth m8. Without the dummy.bin you are screwed and left with an expensive door-stop (you can play your games but no more latest releases)...

That shop has had you over big time....:(

All the new liteon hardware is the same, try to find a new 9504, check those links I posted, It all depends which F/w is on that drive you have

What a sh*tty ass company screwing people like that

If JF will recognise your drive you can at least confirm it was originally a Slim Lite-On......

I am pretty convinced now that it definitely wasn't a Hitachi 0500 so it could only have been a Slim Lite-On.....

You would be wasting your money buying any kit unless you can get the original dummy.bin....:(

At this point I would demand the original dummy.bin because it belongs to you. If they won't give it to you report the foookin shop.....wankers !

If you can find out what drive f/w version it is spoofed as, There is original dumps for each new liteon except the newest one 1175 which you don't have, And if you can get your dummy.bin with the key then you can add it to which ever one it is, Get the latest fw pack from irc channel #fw on efnet

And follow what sp4rkst4rt3r said

AFAIK that won't work because JF needs to see the Original dump or it fails to load the CFW....there is info in the original hat will not be in the spoofed drive....I have tried to do this and it wouldn't flash.....correct me if I am wrong please
