I have a xbox slim I got from a friend and I thought it was a corono to find out it was a trinity. I tried to install a coolrunner rev.c and when I got done the xbox would not write the ECC. I then tried to tun it on it did but red light so I decided to re solder everything and now it just has the sounds but my points are clean as to my eyes. This has happened to my other xbox where I read the nand did all the stuff and wouldnt rite the ECC.

Nevermind. I can see you have a fake coolrunner rev D. Which we don't support on here.

U still need to fill out the template with good clear pics of your soldering and genuine coolrunner.

You do realize that cheap Chinese electronic knockoffs (any and all) are responsible for numerous failures(best case scenario) and possibly fires (worst case scenario). Plus they ride off the backs of the genuine manufacturers of the product causing prices for the genuines to go up to make up for the revenue "lost" to these fake pos replicas. Why even try it? For a few more dollars you get a guaranteed proven product.

On a side note, this "I used a clone and.." crap is really annoying. Whether it worked or not, you're putting cost before quality control and that's piss poor ethics.

If you want some constructive criticism cut your leads shorter and get better flux. It looks like the flux you're using is not very good or you're not using flux and applying too much heat to the solder points. Could be that your tip is too small and you're having to hold it on the joint for too long to get the solder to flow. Your finished joints should have a nice clean shiny fluid round look.

It's hard to read your thread with all the bs posts in it from others, but are you still just getting the beep sound when you try powering on the console? If so you could have damaged the stdby_clk point.

Also, you should tin the pads you're soldering to on the board before you try and solder the wires to them.

you could remove the cr since you haven't made it far enough to use it yet, and just focus on writing the ecc to the console for now. have you tried reading the nand again and if you can then compare it to the original you save when you first read the nand. if you can do that then post jr log.

Writting the ECC does not require installing any chip. I don't know whether the original poster has the original nand dump(s) at all, as if reading the nand was successfull then writting should be aswell - except as some of you already said the standby_clk point got damaged during the coolrunner installation. I have no clue why he did not write the ecc AFTER reading the nand and BEFORE installing the chip itself, as that would help to say what the problem may be. Anyway looking at the soldering I would say it causes the whole trouble. Practicing to solder on a working board is not the best idea to be honest. :(

I always get 2 matching dumps and write ecc before I start soldering the glitch chip. While I'm waiting for the nand to read, I get the wires and glitch chip prepared ready for install.
