GENERAL Xbox Stuck in update loop?

I just had a call from a guy who played the[FONT=&quot] jtag'd Dead Island on a non jtag'd xbox. When he inserted it it stated that he needed to update to the latest software, so he hit ok and now it's telling constantly asking him me to reinsert disc and try again.

Is there anyway to bypass this?

He would need to reflash it as the update wiped the flash.. Its more then likey going get banned aswell done 4 this weeks as other have done the same and they all been banned when going online

Or put your ORIGINAL disk in and it wil update

I'm aware of the drive being reflashed but his console asks him for an update without ANY disc in the drive.

So when he turns on the box, the update request is still there as opposed to the dashboard.

So an oiginal Dead Island disc would update as requested and would get him back to the dashboard? Dont know why I didnt think of that (insert annoying sadface)

Yes, the xbox is waiting for you to put the original dead island, or any other original game that has the 13146 update on it

They are unreal. I'm opening my own up but I hadnt heard of the console being caught in a loop like that before.

Thought I'd check it out with everyone here first and I'm glad I did, I've snt him on a mail telling him what to do

hi mate just put the 13146 system update on a usb stick, insert and it will finish the update, but ya need ya drive flashing again

No they don't, i think he is confused, because there is a XGD2 version of Dead Island doing the rounds, and that is how they got caught out.

They wouldn't need to take it to a shop if they just put the original in, and then re-flashed it afterwards
