 Okay, here's the story. this is the second xbox i've modded. Its a v. 1.0 with a thompson drive (which sux) I bought the X3 of course and had to do the wire install on the LPC, because the holes were filled in with solder. So i soldered everything in, and it booted up fine, got the x3 bios 3294, and added a dummy file to it, and flashed with a cd. It flashed fine, and turned off, turned it on, and it stopped at the rox my xbox.......just like a lot of other people's xbox's. The only thing is that, it still hasn't booted to the x3cl at all. i can't even load anything on it, unless there's a way to do it through the flash menu? So I tried reflashing all different versions of bios' and flashed different ways....http, cd, hdd. Every time its stops at the same screen. So i had an idea.......... I switched my first xbox's x3 chip that i modded a few months ago with the one that i'm working on now. and the problem went away. So it's obviously in the chip/ bios. So what do I do! Like I said.......V. 1.0 w/ soldered LPC (old school xbox) w/ thompson drive, it will reflash over and over and each time it works, but it WILL NOT LOAD X3CL!, so frustrating. I've been reading for three days now so i didn't have to post a new thread, but now i feel that i have no choice, b/c i cannot find a thread about this problem. okay, i'll stop here for now. - Drew, WA

Try this.

Flash the latest X3 BIOS to the chip. Switch the Xbox on while holding A+B+X+Y. Continue holding the buttons and hopefully the Xbox should reboot and go into X3CL.

If this doesn't work, let me know as there's another way to do this.

The other way is to flash a non-X3 BIOS to your chip. Download the file x3_erase.xbe from xbins (in the same area as the x3 BIOS, but in the _old folder).

Copy this x3_erase.xbe to your Xbox HDD and run it. Try the X3 BIOS again after it reboots.

When you say run the erase.xbe I'm curious to know where to run it from since the dash is not accessable. Run it from the FTP program?

Someone correct me if I am wrong
You could make a slayers boot CD with the erase tool on it
This wouls allow the dash to boot and run off CD and then you could run the tool

"The other way is to flash a non-X3 BIOS to your chip"

By doing this you bypass the X3CL settings..

No - it is still trying to read the config from the EEPROM on the X3 chip.

As I said, flash a non - X3 BIOS and boot it to a dashboard and run the erase.xbe from there.
