Xbox V1.0 & Insert CD - Flashing Mode

V 1.0 xbox - I have an X3 boots fine to Flash Bios ver 3.0.1. But I cannot seem to get the chip to recognize the 'BIOS CD" when I try to flash it -

1. Does the same exact thing when I removed the external switch.
2. I have taken it out and resolder it. (New Pin Header)
3. I have tried X3_3293
4. " " " X3_3294
5. Changed out the DVD drives
6. Does boot to Xbox Dash

Same problem - Why can't I flash the sucker?

Also how do I get the bios on the Hard Drive - Do I have to use a special format?
NTFS,FAT,FAT32,etc?

N.M. - I found the issue was I needed to use a DVD-r, after trying 3 different CD-R - All new.....All Is Wellll!!!
