Xbox v1.1 using wire install - modchips turns on but no BIOS shows

I just installed a new X3 on a v1.1 using a wire install. Both LEDs turn on, but the BIOs does not boot. I just get the regular Microsoft boot and then the error screen since I have a aftermarket harddrive. The X3 panel on the front shows Red and the power button does not work. The xbox just turns on when I plug in the power cable.

Check the switch plug it sounds like a pin might be bent over.

That, or look for bridged solder under the sticky pad of the power/eject board. That has been a common problem.
