Is the only difference between these the fact that 1.6b requires Flashbios 3.03? I know the LPC rebuild & alternate 5v is still required, but just checking before I start.
OK, everything went great as far as LPC rebuild and D0. I have the EvoxM8_v1.6 1Meg bios, so it flashed all 4 banks. AID 3.0 for installs, and added several things. Modded works great, turn mod off (& after remembering to LOCK HD), M$Dash came right up....YEA!!! Thanks for the reply
I don't know why I didn't use that bios....I think I was reading along with a 1.6b tutorial, and thats what he used. I'll reflash tomarrow. Because I flashed a 1M bios taking all 4 banks, will I need to take it out and reflash with X2 programmer? There is no Flashbios 3.03 on there anymore - right?
You need FlashX to reflash because there's no more flashbios on both banks of your chip. Get X2 5035_v16plus.bin, ftp it to your xbox HDD and flash with it using FlashX.
as stated above FlashX is good flashing utility to run on your box
you'll need to ftp the program and run it as an app under your dash, also create a folder named bios and place the X2 bios within it and ftp that as well over the root of any drive
launch FlashX and follow the screen instructions
