Hi!
I've got a Xbox never seen modified by a person not avalaible (i don't know who he/she is). In the console there is dashboard 12146 and a Liteon 74850C.
The strange thing is that on the front of the metal cover (where is the sticker about firmware revision, etc)
there is a serial number on the barcode with the last two character canceled and rewritten.

The original serial number is: D608CG83281000ARK
The modified serial number is: D608CG83281000A9P

The last two characters, written by hand with a pen, are different.
Now, when i try to do the update an error pops up: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-C810-1012
It means that my console is modified and now i can't update.
I've got the key of the drive, but i REALLY don't know why the serial number is different. What should i do to update to latest dashboard and LT+3.0? thanks!

Return the drive to stock firmware and proceed to update. Then reflash the drive to lt3.0.

xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-C810-1012 This error occurs if your console has been tampered with or modified. Your console can no longer connect to Xbox LIVE, install software updates or play new games that require a console software update.

The same thing happens when I try to update using an USB memory.

in my own experiences ive found this to be a problem with drive not matching the original drive, try find out if the drive has been changed for any reason, and replace current drive with original drive revision.

Ok so i'll try a spare benq (i think there was a benq in it). Have I got to rebuild the dummy using the info like chassis serial, laser serial, pcb serial?

It didn't worked using a benq. Same error. I don't know what to do right now. I know that I'm not lost because I've got the key, but... what is the solution?

Have you got your bin file from a dump. Sticking that in jungleflasher will tell you what your original drive type is after the "spoofed as" Then you can see if it was a benq or not

Here's a shot in the dark fella...I had a console come in once stuck in a loop wouldnt update gave me errors no matter what fw i flashed to it couldnt proceed with update.. I think it was switched off in the middle of the update something went wrong anyway...It was the update that reflashed the drives and the guy who sent me the box had no clue.... after 14 or so hours 3 diff drive revisions and a few hissy fits i just did a liteon erase put the drive in blank (after running liteon erase in jf) And to my amazement the update finally went through...

Also a shot in the drank, maybe that's not the correct drive or key. RGH it and boot Xell to see if it's the right key.

He can tell if its the correct key by playing a low dashboard game. If it boots then the key has to be correct. I assume that he has played games on this console which tells us he has the right key but not whether it is the correct drive.
