Xbox won't do anything anymore

I've been experiencing problems that are mentioned more on this forum, but I haven't found a solution yet.

This is what happened. After installing the chip everything went right. I got the blue flashing screen as always, I downloaded the bios bin-file and flashed the bios through http.
Now the bios has been flashed with version 3.03, I believe the xbox is a version 1.6b (might also be 1.6), and the chip I used is a 2.6. Note that the readme file that came along with the bin-file said that this version was tested on all versions and should work.

That all seemed to go well, it flashed allright and the xbox turned off by itself. After turning the xbox on however it wouldn't give any visual, sound, the cd-tray won't open and after waiting for a while the green led turns orange. I understand that I have to flash the bios again with a better one, but how can I do that since I won't get the blue flashing screen back? I tried switching between memorybanks, and enabling/disabling flashing, but the thing won't do anything else then giving me that black screen. Also both power and eject button at startup doesn't seem to do anything (I read it should give a backup bios).

ok - first off : You flashed another copy of FlashBIOS to your chip - why? You already had it on there!

When you went to download it, did you read the description?

"Legal utility for updating your X2 or X3 mod with another Bios"

Read my x2.6 troubleshooting guide for help on what to flash (in my sig).

Now, If you've flashed 3.0.3 to your chip and you're getting this error, then you have a 1.6.

You can boot this to FlashBIOS to try this again - here's what you need to do:

1. Boot with the X2 enabled. Screen will be blank and led will change from green to orange.
2. Press the eject button once - LED will flash green. You may have to do this a few times (and I mean a few - be patient).
3. The eject light will stop flashing - if flashbios 3.0.3 isn't on the screen, then repeat from step 2.

Remember, get the right BIOS to flash this correctly!

Ah, so now at least I know what went wrong.
The chip had 3.0.1 preïnstalled on memorybank 1, and it had 3.0.3 installed on memorybank 2, so that's why it never booted from bank 2 in the first place. Then I flashed the bios on bank 1 to 3.0.3 too, so now none of them works anymore. Basicly meaning that I screwed up.
So, if I flash it back to version 3.0.1 everything should be allright, the only trouble is that I need a working bios to flash it. Well, I've been pushing the eject button for over half an hour now, I hope I'll ever get the 3.0.3 flashbios screen.

Try long presses of the eject button.

If after say ten attempts you haven't gotten anywhere, switch off and switch on (with the eject button) and try again.

It will work, so keep trying.

Thanks for all your help Martin, but I solved the problem. I cheated a little :p . I just removed the mod-chip from the xbox that I was working on, I put it in my own 1.4 and then flashed the bios back to 3.0.1 :)

I would have posted this sooner, but our internet connection went dead...
