Plugged in my x3 and all my cables, close it up and start hooking the connectors in the back and as soon as I plugged in the power it turns on..... I was able to connect to the x3 and flash it and everything is working fine.... Then I go to hit the eject button and nothing happens... I hit the power button and nothing happens... so I say what the hell let me take everything off and see if it works properly... so I unplugged everything and started from scratch and started plugging in all my cables..... and nothing happened..... I hit the power button and nothing.... I hit the eject button and nothing..... So I put the chip back on and as soon as I plug in the power it turns on..... I've been reading up on the issues on threads that people post and I found one that has a simular problem as me.... They said the power button board might be out and needs to be replaced.....What do ya'll think.... ????????????

I think you connected the power/eject cable to the 5v socket on the chip.

It's all colour coded, you know...
If this is what you've done, you need to repair the trace on the actual power/eject PCB which has the buttons on it.

you were right on the money

I took apart my front panel yesterday.... and I metered the connections and two of my lines were toast..... I don't know why they burned... and I know I connected the cables correctly because they are color coded and just for kicks I read the how to one more time to make sure everything was connected properly and it was.... I'm affraid to put it back in because now that I put jumper cables it might fry something else that's down the line since the smallest cable I could find was 32 gauge cable.... I hope it was just a freak accident but is there somewhere else on the board to get 5v from other than the front panel. I have an xbox 1.0 and I know that there is an alternate 5v for 1.6 version but it's only one wire..... can anyone help me with that

Huh? You don't get the 5v from the front panel!!!!

The red socket labelled "5v 1.6 only" on the X3 is NOT to be used on anything other than a 1.6 Xbox.
