Hi,
I did my own V.26CE wire install which was successful, and then flashed over HTTP using X2_4981 which I got from xbins, this was the most recent version I could find there.
The system boots through an xbox Xecuter2 flash screen and then loads the MS dash.
I am unable to boot from any optical media, it is a v1.0 xbox with Thompson drive and am giving up on finding new disks to try.
What are my alternatives to booting thru the DVD drive? I tried attaching the HDD to my XP box and checking out the drive but XP does not recognise the partition, so copying that way seems not possible.
The nfo for the bios said holding A while booting would enable FTP, however I tried this and still just end up back n the MS dash, with no ping response on the IPs I tried.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, have trawled the forums but found few relevant threads.
thanks

Tried sony CDRW, Sony DVDR, Verbatim CDRW, all on lowest speed, no good.
Where can I find that version of BIOS? I looked on xbins, couldn't find anything newer than 4981
Also, not really sure how I can re-flash, now that I've flashed that version, I no longer get the blue screen that allows me to enable flashing over HTTP. Flash over CD or HDD aren't possible as I don't have access to boot from disk or copy to HDD.

Trying to load a EvolutionX ISO image but ultimately just want XBMC, so Evo is just for the FTP ability. If I could mount my HDD on my PC somehow and copy the XBMC files over that would be fine, but I don't know if this is possible.

Almost everything I see on the net refers to Memorex discs working in Thompson drives. Anyone know if these disks are available in Australia? (Sydney pref.)

Solved this by plugging in a PC DVD drive, and booting from disk on that. That Thompson really sucks.
thanks for the pointers.
