xD card mod

hey guys i've been trying to get a XD card for my slim as i broke the onboard nand, its no longer on the board so i managed to get as 32MB xD card this morning but obviously a slims nand is 16MB so what do i need to do to be able to use this with my slim? i have pinoiuts, and a xd card reader port soldered into the console but im confused as to how id use the £32MB card as a 16MB? can i just use my nand-x to write to it and it'll format/ use it correctly for the slims nand? i know im talking about a slim nand here but i've read in several places that it worked with the old jtags so why not for a slim + this is the jtag section so someone with jtag knowledge can give me an answer
