Im looking information on installing, its a .iso and ive burned it onto an xbox readable dvd. When i try and boot off it its comes upw with some error loading some file. Im just wondering if theres anything i need to know about installing.

ive looked on xbox-linux and cant find much.

the xboxs ive tried to install on all have slayer 2.5 or 2.6 installed, and are loaded with games.

any information on this will be appreciated.

You're still running the X2 bios, aren't you? If so, you need a different bios.

To my knowledge, the X2 bios does not support linux. It is only a replacement to the M$ bios, so you may run unsigned code. The bios I believe you are looking for is perfectly legal: the Cromwell bios. You used to be able to download it from this website, but not anymore, I don't think. Just type in Cromwell bios into Google, and you should have it. Then, flash it to your second bank, and boot from that with you Linux DVD in the drive. Everything will go fine.

However, just in case you don't know, (unless that Linux distro is a boot Live, so it don't need to actaully get installed), when you install it, it'll reformat your drive, unless your only alloting it, like, 10 gigs, or however much space you had in mind. I would suggest that you buy a second cheap HDD, and use that one for Linux. Or heck, use the old stock hard drive. Mine's gathering dust, and I would bet yours is too. Although, I could be wrong. :)

Note: Please disregard all of the above text if you are running the Cromwell bios. Then I'm dumb.
