Xecuter 1957 bios boots to blank screen - no frag...

I’m having problems loading the Xecuter 1957 bios.

I previously had a Xenium solderless chip installed, but it failed and I’ve now soldered in an X3. It’s running EvoxM8 bios and the XMBC dashboard.

I installed the Xecuter 3 chip, both blue lights light up, and it booted to the default blue (backup) bios correctly. The switches are set “on on off off off”, and I load the latest 1957 bios. I reboot the Xbox and it boots to a blank screen. It does *not* frag, but instead boots to a perfectly black screen.

I then loaded the Evox M8 bios (256k) by setting the switches to “on on on on off”. Since I’m using XBMC 1.1 as my default dashboard, so it’s booting the from xbmc xbe file, which I've renamed evoxdash.xbe. This works flawlessly, and I'm back to enjoying my backed-up games, XBMC functionality, etc.

So, with Evox M8 working fine, I go back to trying to load the 1957 bios (I’ve downloaded it from several different locations, including #xbins, to verify that it’s not a bad bios file). When I flash the 1957 bios (to either 1234 or 5678), the system boots to a blank screen. The 5th switch (flash protection) is always set to OFF when I’m flashing. I’ve also tried loading it with the switch completely disconnected. It does *not* FRAG, but instead goes directly to a black screen.

Any ideas? I’m thinking that maybe the evoxdash.xbe file is the problem, or that the X3_1957 bios are looking for a different filename in the default c: directory. What file should be there, or what should I name the evoxdash.xbe to so that the 1957 bios will read it?

Thanks in advance!

I've read a few places this may be caused by not having the standard retail video cable.

Also, I had a problem with the first version of the 1957 from xbins so now they have a file called REPACK. Try that out.

I am by all means a noob myself, I was having quite a few problems until the other day so i'm not really qualified to give advice.... but I thought i'd try.

I am a noob to this and chip is in the mail. I downloaded the 1957 rar and when i decompressed it i noticed the size is 1,048,576. Can it be that you have to flash to the 2mb bank (12345678-off,off,off,off) because the file size is > 1,024 ? Again...i havent given it a shot yet but i was curious about it as i was getting preprared.

I've got the same problem and I'm thinking it might be evo dash. I'm attempting to resintall it but the damned box isn't being seen on the network :?

Apologies. I'll watch the other thread and/or wait for a new bios revision that fixes this issue...

Old Chipped Xbox 360 Won't play new games

hi guys

sorry if i am being stupid but.... I bought a "chipped" xbox more than 3 years ago and I used to back up my originals with kreon firmware drive and they used to work a treat however none of the new games work such as COD6. I am not upto date with the "wave" games and I am legally backing up my own games and assumed al games could be backed up and played. FYI the last one I backed up was COD5 and that worked 100 %. Is my firmware wrong? I was told it was "chipped" as opposed to firmware if this makes any difference

By the way it will never be on Xbox live so the simpler the better.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance

Re: Old Chipped Xbox 360 Won't play new games

it is probably not chipped. what u need to do is reflash the drive with the newest fw so the drive can read newes games, if u cant do it yourself have someone do it for u....shouldnt cost u more than 20-25 quid/dollars.
