Ok so I have read many articles and tutorials, but I still don't feel I have found a simple answer to my question. So here it goes...

I have a Xecuter 2.3B Lite Plus chip w/ an older X2 BIOS (Sept. 2004 era)

I would like to update it to the latest X2 BIOS, the one with Config Live.

What is the easiest, or quickest way to do this.

This is a perfectly working XBOX for over a year now, it has a 250GB HDD, and using the Evox Dashboard 3935 I believe. I have FTP access, if that eases anything.

Sorry if this is the stupidest thing you've read all day, and thanks for any help you may be able to provide. If you need more info, please just let me know.

First thing, I suggest checking if you can boot off both BIOS banks, at least to FlashBIOS. Since you're up and running 100% and can do so, best to make sure you've got a backup plan in place. I would recommend using FlashX to update the BIOS, available in the usual places. My upgrade path would go like this-

Check that both banks work. If FlashBIOS is on an alternate bank update it to a version with HDD/HTTP flashing capability if not arelady there. Use FlashX on the appropriate FlashBIOS bank, confirm that you can boot it and move around the options. (FlashX is like X2 BIOS Manager, banks 1&2=bank1, 3&4=bank2.) If you've got your old X2 BIOS on both banks and they work, that is fine too. With both banks prepped and tested move the appropriate X2CL 5035 BIOS onto your hard drive, make sure you have the right one for your Xbox version. (gotta be the "old" version, since you state you're running a BIOS that wouldn't be 1.6+ compatible) Setup the x2config.ini file as needed, recommended to use the X2 Config Maker. See the stickies for a link. Be sure you have the dashboard options set to find your EvoX dash. Place the ini in the root of your E or F drive, the BIOS will check both of those locations. Back into FlashX, flash the banks of choice with 5035. This BIOS is 512KB so FlashX will automaticly select two of the 256KB banks, 1&2 or 3&4. When FlashX has completed it's thang (do not interrupt it! let it work.) select the bank you've flashed 5035 to and reboot.

Since you've replaced the HDD, be sure that you set the LBA48 setting to match in the 5035 BIOS. It is an edit to the bin itself, not in the ini. By default it will be normal partitions with F getting everything left over. If you don't have a 200GB+ F drive then you will probably need to use the F to 137GB, G gets rest setting. You can always reflash the BIOS to try and find the right setting, you won't hurt your HDD. I've seen at least two users here that had to bounce through all 4 LBA48 settings before they hit the right one. Read the LBA48.txt file included in the BIOS archive.

Read thorugh that, digest it, see if it makes sense for you. Will also give others time to jump in here and provide their suggestions. Best to go slow and accurately than rush into it and d**k it up.
