will it distory my orignal xbox?
If you do it wrong, you could kill the chip or your Xbox. Read the tutorials, and follow what they say - if you do everything correct, then all should be well.

In a nutshell:

1. Install the chip
2. Flash the chip with a hacked BIOS (Make a BIOS CD)
3. Install a dashboard (Make an EvoX boot CD/connect to the Xbox using FTP program)

There are guides for all of the above available, either in MartinC's sig, the homepage of teamxecuter.com, or www.xbox-scene.com

When you say that "everything works fine", what exactly do you mean? What screen are you at? Flashbios, Evolution X, something else?

I meant that if I turn it on it doesnt frag or anything it just comes up to the regular screen when there is no cd in the xbox. If i put a game in I can play it.....when its loading up it is just the regular screen with evo x in the top left corner...i was just wondering if I need to get a dashboard to be able to save games to the hard drive.

Going by what you wrote previously, you successfully flashed your chip - you now need to make a dashboard boot cd (best bet is EvoX). Make the disc, and load the disc with your chip enabled - EvoX should load, if you've made the cd correctly.

Once EvoX loads, you can FTP into your Xbox and configure everything from there. You need to transfer a dashboard to you hard drive - you'll also need to configure the x2config.ini file to load the correct dash. DVD2Xbox is one programme you'll need for what your main goal is - does exactly what it says on the tin!
