[font=verdana, arial, helvetica]Yesterday I installed a Xecuter 2.6 CE Mod Chip & Xapter on my v1.1 xbox and tried to flash it by CD. I've put X2.5035 bios (changed named to BIOS.BIN as instructed) along with a 100mg dummy file on CD and inserted it when prompted only for it to be ejected after about 10 seconds saying 'Please insert disk'
I thought it could be the DVD drive not reading my copied CD so had the same two files put onto DVD and i got the same message. What have I done wrong?!

XBox DVD Drives can be very picky
What did you use to creat the ISO before you burned?
What did you use to burn the DVD?
What media make are you using?

Its a Phillips drive I installed myself to stop the dirty disk message.

I don't have Nero to create the ISO image, I used a free app called honestech Fireman CDDVD Burner 2.0

Used the same program to burn it

I used an 'Imitation' CDR which didnt work, a 'Datawrite' DVDR which didn't work and then a 'Phillips' CDRW which the XBOX found and give me the disk name but didnt progress any further.

Using roxio cd burner I've found how to [font=verdana, arial, helvetica]use iso9660 and I now see about it changing everything to uppercase. Hopefully this will solve my problem, thanks for your help!

Here are some ideals

1. I have found Sony DVD media to work quite well even with thompson drives

2. Normally you would create an XBox ISO (An Xbox ISO is fifferent from a normal ISO) Use can use the program Quix I use version 1.01 you can get this from Xbins see the link in my sig

3. After Quix has made to iso using your files then burn this to DVD

When making a bios disk, I have found that the built-in windows burning utility does the job quite well. I used a Memorex CD-RW, with the windows burning utility, a bios and an 50mb dummy and it works fine. (Samsung Drive :p )

Don't need to create an XISO to flash the BIOS, just need to do a regular file burn. There are some settings that work better than others but I really don't recall what they are. If you are using a burn program that allows you to select the drive speed for burning set it to the slowest setting. This allows the laser to burn a "sharper" track on the media.

But since it is a 2.6CE, why not use the HTTP flashing that's available in either FlashBIOS 3.0.1 or 3.0.3? That takes the whole media problem out of the picture. This has got to be the easiest way to flash the BIOS, I wish it was available when I started modding.

Problem solved, I just rewrote the CDWR again and it seemed to solve itself. Thanks for all your help.
